Iran: Residual flight disruptions likely following reopening of country's airspace early Oct. 3 /update 2

Lingering flight disruptions likely after Iran reopens its airspace Oct. 3. Confirm flights.

Warning

Authorities have reopened Iranian airspace early Oct. 3 following a closure in the immediate wake of the country's Oct. 1 missile attack against Israel. However, several international airlines have announced continued flight suspensions to Iran's Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), including Dubai-based carriers Emirates (EK) and Flydubai (FZ), as well Qatar Airways (QR) and Lufthansa (LH).

Residual disruptions will probably continue to affect flights transiting or serving Iran for at least several hours as airlines work to reposition aircraft and clear passenger backlogs. Future airspace closures could occur without advance warning in the event of further direct hostilities between Israel and Iran.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via an Iranian airport or airspace. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
