Iran, Turkiye: Turkiye carriers suspend flights to Iran until at least Nov. 1 amid security concerns
Turkiye carriers Turkish Airlines and Pegasus cancel flights to Iran until at least Nov. 1. Reconfirm flights.
Turkiye-based carriers Pegasus (PC) and Turkish Airlines (TK) have suspended flights to Iran until at least Nov. 1. Neither airline has disclosed the reason for the flight cancellations, but the move is likely due to increased tensions between Israel, Iran, and the Lebanese Hizballah (LH).
The suspension of flights by Turkish Airlines and Pegasus will likely result in flight cancellations at Iranian airports such as Tabriz Airport (TBZ), Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport (IFN), Shiraz International Airport (SYZ), and Mashhad Airport (MHD). Increasing tensions could result in further flight disruptions beyond Nov. 1. Additional airlines could implement similar measures.
Contact Turkish Airlines or Pegasus if booked to fly to Iran through at least Nov. 1. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Review contingency plans. Maintain contact with diplomatic representatives.
