Jordan, Iraq, Iran: Dubai announces suspension of all flights to and from Iran, Iraq, and Jordan until at least Oct. 5
Dubai carriers Emirates and Flydubai suspend all flights to and from Iran, Iraq, and Jordan until at least Oct. 5 amid security concerns.
Dubai-based carriers Emirates (EK) and Flydubai (FZ) announced on Oct. 3 that all flights to and from Iran, Iraq, and Jordan would be suspended until at least Oct. 5. The move comes amid increased tensions between Israel, Iran, and the Lebanese Hizballah (LH) and major exchanges of cross-border fire between the sides.
The suspension of flights operated by Dubai-based airlines to and from Iran, Iraq, and Jordan will likely result in the cancellation of flights at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Basrah International Airport (BSR), Baghdad International Airport (BGW), Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA), and Amman's Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in the coming days. Continued cross-border fire could result in further flight disruptions. Additional airlines could implement similar measures until the incidence of cross-border fire between Israel, Iran, and the LH declines.
Reconfirm all flights scheduled to and from Iran, Iraq, and Jordan until at least Oct. 5. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Plan for short-term disruptions or cancellations. Review contingency plans. Maintain contact with diplomatic representatives.
