Further rallies, heightened security measures, and related disruptions are likely in parts of Bangladesh through at least early December. In recent days, protests have intensified following the arrest of a prominent Hindu religious leader, leading to violent clashes between supporters, lawyers, and law enforcement personnel in Chattogram. Activists have also reportedly engaged in the vandalism of several motorbikes near a court building in the city. The unrest in Chattogram has left at least one person dead and 10 others injured. In response to the unrest, authorities have used sound grenades and baton charges to disperse crowds and deployed additional security forces personnel in Chattogram and Dhaka to maintain order.
