Belgium: Public and non-profit workers to protest and march across Brussels Nov. 7

Unionized public and non-profit professionals to stage a protest march through Brussels, Belgium, from 10:30 Nov. 7.

Warning

Unionized public sector and non-profit workers plan to stage a protest march through Brussels from 10:30 Nov. 7. The purpose of the rally is to denounce current hiring practices and demand increased funding. Participants will gather from 10:30 at Brussels-North station. From there they will march through Brussels from 11:00. The march route is unclear; however, it will likely impact the city center and the Brussels' Inner Ring based on previous events. Several thousand participants are likely to attend.

Authorities will likely deploy increased security to monitor the gathering. Localized road travel and transport disruptions are likely across central Brussels through Nov. 7.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Plan for delays if traveling through central Brussels on Nov. 7. Heed instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately leave the area at the first signs of any security disturbance.
