Hungary: Activists to conduct protest march in central Budapest Nov. 29
Activists to stage protest march from Statue of Anna Kethly to Lajos Batthyanyi Eternal Flame in Budapest, Hungary, from 16:30 Nov. 29.
Activists plan to stage a protest march in Budapest from the Statue of Anna Kethly to the Lajos Batthyanyi Eternal Flame from 16:30 Nov. 29. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the redrawing of electoral districts in Budapest. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend.
Law enforcement officers will likely deploy along the march route to facilitate the procession. The march and any road closures that authorities implement will likely disrupt ground transport. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest march as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near or between the Statue of Anna Kethly and the Lajos Batthyanyi Eternal Flame. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
