Initial reports indicate that the blast occurred near a police vehicle and a school van. The incident has killed at least four people and wounded 15 others. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.

Heightened security and associated localized transport disruptions are likely over the coming hours. Temporary and localized internet curbs and search operations are possible. Further isolated security incidents, including small-scale explosions, may occur.

The incident site is approximately 35 km (22 miles) south-southwest of Quetta.
