Serbia: Activists to demonstrate in Belgrade, Nov. 11

Activists to protest at Government of Serbia in Belgrade, Serbia, from 17:00 Nov. 11. Heightened security likely.

Informational

Activists plan to protest at the Government of Serbia building on Nemanjina Street from 17:00 Nov. 11 to protest the recent collapse of a railway station structure in Novi Sad that killed 14 people. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend; however, at least several hundred attendees have taken part in recent related protests. Several opposition politicians plan to attend the demonstration.

Police will likely deploy to facilitate the demonstration. Associated road closures may prompt localized travel disruptions. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators, law enforcement officers, or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the demonstration as a standard precaution and seek alternative routes to circumvent the impacted area. Allow additional time if traveling to the Government of Serbia building. Heed instructions from local authorities. Immediately leave the area at the first signs of any security disturbance.
