Protesters and unidentified individuals clashed during a demonstration at the intersection of Bulevar Vudroa Vilsona and Bulevar Nikolaja Kravcova in Belgrade on the evening of Nov. 27. Demonstrators had gathered to denounce the planned demolition of the Old Sava Bridge. Approximately 30 unidentified individuals reportedly physically attacked the demonstrators. Footage shows large crowds, as well as law enforcement officers, at the protest site.
Law enforcement officers will likely increase deployments to the area in an attempt to prevent further unrest. Demonstrators may march through the surrounding area, most likely northward toward the Old Sava Bridge. The presence of protesters is likely causing transport disruptions. Further clashes cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protest activity as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the Belgrade Waterfront area. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
