Authorities are responding to an ammonia gas leak that occurred at the Sofa ice factory in the Talubo district of Pattani on Nov. 13. Initial reports indicate a piece of metal fell onto a gas pipe and ruptured it. Around 18 workers were sent to the hospital due to dizziness, eye irritations, and severe vomiting. Officials have cordoned off the area and advised people to avoid the scene.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the affected area. Authorities may restrict access to nearby roads to facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles. Officials may also mandate additional building evacuations in the vicinity as a precaution until clearance operations and investigations end.
Avoid the impacted area until authorities give the all-clear. Seek alternative routes and allow additional travel time to nearby destinations.
