Activists led by Banja Luka mayor Drasko Stanivukovic are protesting at the Palace of the Republic on Bana Milosavljevica in Banja Luka as of late afternoon Dec. 9. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce budgetary changes proposed by the government of Republika Srpska. Large crowds are in attendance.
Law enforcement officers have likely deployed to facilitate the gathering. The presence of demonstrators and police is likely to disrupt vehicular travel in the area. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
