Colombia: Water supply disruptions to persist in Bogota through Dec. 22

Water supply restrictions will persist in Bogota and surrounds, Colombia, through Dec. 22. Restrictions suspended Dec. 23-Jan. 6.

Informational

Water rationing is scheduled to persist in Bogota through Dec. 22. The city and surrounding regions have been impacted by an ongoing drought, leading officials to restrict water supply for 24-hour periods (08:00-08:00) in various locations and times to preserve water levels in the region. Officials recently announced that water restrictions would be suspended Dec. 23-Jan. 6 before resuming Jan. 7. Further information and schedules are located here.

Some business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water.

If operating in the impacted areas, stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Water pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water.
