Authorities plan to deploy increased security measures for Notre Dame Cathedral reopening in Paris, France, Dec. 7-8. Disruptions likely.

Informational

Authorities will deploy enhanced security measures for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris Dec. 7-8. Local officials plan significant road and bridge closures and access restrictions around the Ile-de-la-Cite district. Paris' police chief announced the deployment of thousands of police, gendarmes, security officials, and the military in its anti-terrorism role. The restrictions will be in place from 07:00 Dec. 7 to 20:00 Dec. 8. Around 50 heads of state will attend the commemorations, plus President-elect Trump.

Temporary road closures and security restrictions are likely Dec. 6-9 on major routes between Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Velizy-Villacoublay (VIY) airports and the city center, as well as around embassies and other diplomatic missions, as heads of state arrive and depart the events.

Heightened security, access restrictions, and transport disruptions will likely prompt travel and business disruptions in the affected areas.

Plan accordingly for localized transit and access disruptions in Paris during the events. Comply with enhanced security procedures and strictly heed all instructions from authorities. Allow additional time for travel.
