Israel: Authorities to implement travel authorization requirement indefinitely from Jan. 1

Officials in Israel implement travel entry requirement for all visitors entering country beginning Jan. 1; measure effective indefinitely.

Warning

Israeli officials will require all travelers to have a valid visa or an approved online Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before arriving, starting Jan. 1; this measure will remain in effect indefinitely. Visitors from visa-exempt countries will also need an approved ETA-IL before travel. The Israeli Population and Immigration Authority recommends submitting ETA-IL applications 72 hours before making travel arrangements, such as booking flights and accommodations. An approved ETA-IL is valid for up to two years and covers stays of up to 90 days per visit. Authorities state that the measure aims to enhance security and immigration processes by allowing travelers to be screened before boarding. Failure to obtain an authorized visa or approved ETA-IL may delay travel and entry.

Travelers to Israel should apply for an ETA-IL at least 72 hours before making travel arrangements. Ensure your visa or ETA-IL is approved to avoid delays and disruptions with travel plans.
