Spain: Activist group to lead protest in Toledo Jan. 2
Protest denouncing industrial farming planned in Plaza del Conde, Toledo, Spain, Jan. 2.
The Stop Industrial Livestock Farming activist group will lead a protest outside the Palacio de Fuensalida regional government building in Toledo's Plaza del Conde at 12:00 on Jan. 2. Participants will denounce the end of the moratorium on large pig farms in the Castilla-La Mancha region. Precedent suggests several hundred activists will likely attend the protest.
Authorities will likely deploy additional police to monitor the demonstration. Increased security, road closures, and pedestrian congestion may prompt localized disruptions, but the protest will likely conclude peacefully.
