Activists clashed with police during a demonstration in central Ankara on Dec. 15. Activists led by the Give My Rights Platform clashed with police after they attempted to march from the Cankaya Municipality building on Ziya Gokalp Caddesi to Parliament Park (Meclis Parki). Police reportedly employed baton charges and tear gas to disperse the protest. At least 36 people were arrested, and several injuries were reported. The demonstrators intended to demand higher salaries and improved working conditions for workers.
