Germany: Activists to stage demonstration in Saarbrucken Jan. 13
Activists to stage rally at Max-Braun-Platz in Saarbrucken, Germany, from 18:00 Jan. 13; heightened security, transport disruptions likely.
Activists affiliated with several organizations plan to stage a rally at Max-Braun-Platz in Saarbrucken from 18:00 Jan. 13. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce fascism and commemorate the 90th anniversary of the 1935 Saar status referendum. The number of people who would participate in the rally was not immediately clear.
Authorities will probably deploy a heightened security presence to the demonstration site to monitor the rally. Transport disruptions will likely affect the vicinity during the rally. Clashes between demonstrators and police, or between ideologically opposed individuals, cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the demonstration as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the rally site. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
