Authorities are disposing of an unexploded World War II bomb in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Jan. 9. The unexploded bomb was discovered in Westfalenpark, south of the city center. Officials have implemented a 250-meter (820-foot) evacuation zone around the bomb site and closed a nearby rail line to facilitate the disposal operation.
Heightened security and disruptions to transport and business will likely affect the vicinity of the bomb site for the duration of the operation and will probably linger into the late evening.
