Rail services at the facility are suspended, and authorities reportedly evacuated the area. Authorities have as yet made no official statement concerning the nature of the incident; however, initial reporting indicates it may involved a response to a bomb threat.
Rail service disruptions will likely persist at Magdeburg Central Railway Station for several hours after authorities give the all-clear. Police activity may cause road traffic disruptions near the station.
