Germany: Police reopen Magdeburg Central Station on evening of Jan. 6 following bomb threat /update 1

Authorities reopened Magdeburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) on the evening of Jan. 6 after suspending rail services at and closing the facility earlier in the evening due to a bomb threat. Police briefly evacuated, cordoned off, and searched the station before ultimately determining the threat to be false.

Rail service disruptions will likely persist at Magdeburg Central Station through at least late Jan. 6, especially in the event that rail operators need to reposition rolling stock.
