Activists plan to protest at March 15 Square (Marcius 15. ter) in Budapest from 16:00 Jan. 12. The purpose of the demonstration is to demand the resignation of Antal Rogan, a minister in the ruling cabinet, after the US Treasury Department enacted sanctions against him for alleged corruption. It was not immediately clear how many people would participate in the protest.
Law enforcement officers will likely deploy nearby to facilitate the gathering. The presence of demonstrators will likely disrupt vehicular transport in the area. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
