As of the afternoon of Jan. 1, rail disruptions continue in the London metropolitan area after an individual was struck by a train between Clapham, London Euston, and Watford Junction Stations. London Northwestern Rail services between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey are suspended, with delays and cancellations expected. Disruptions are also affecting Watford Junction and Clapham Junction on the Southern Rail Line. Alternative buses are available between Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction (for London Northwestern passengers) and between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction (for Southern Rail passengers). Disruptions may last until at least 18:00.
Lingering rail disruptions are likely even after authorities conclude their response and investigation, and services resume as officials reposition rolling stock.
