DRC: Firefighters responding to large fire in Lingwala neighborhood of Kinshasa late May 2

Firefighters are responding to a major fire at the Bread Victory Factory (Pain Victoire Bakery) along Avenue des Huileries in the Lingwala neighborhood of Kinshasa late May 2. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire has caused significant material damage in the vicinity. The cause of the blaze is possibly due to an electrical issue. There have as yet been no reports of casualties.

Transport and business disruptions will likely continue in the affected area over the coming hours as firefighters work to extinguish the fire.

Avoid the scene of the fire. Allow additional time to reach destinations in the impacted area until emergency responders have extinguished the blaze and given the all-clear.
