Possible tropical storm forming in northwestern Caribbean; heavy rain forecast for parts of Florida, Cuba, and the Bahamas

According to the National Hurricane Center, a weather system located over the northwestern Caribbean between southern Florida (US), Cuba, and the Bahamas has a 40 percent chance of forming into a tropical depression or storm within the next 48 hours (from 02:00 - local time - September 29). In all events, the system is expected to bring heavy rain to parts of central and western Cuba, the Florida Keys, the Florida mainland, and the northwestern Bahamian islands in the coming days. Associated flooding and mudslides are possible.
