Algeria: Healthcare sector protests expected to resume

The National Union of Public Health Practitioners (SNPSP) is expected to announce the resumption of protests in the coming days (as of Wednesday September 20). The protests are intended to denounce insufficient supplies in hospitals, drug shortages, and insecurity in healthcare facilities. Healthcare professionals have also claimed they are being vilified, specifically in recent court cases, to mask the dysfunction of the health system.
