Gas stations across the country to be resupplied November 9 following nationwide fuel shortages

The fuel shortage that has been affecting the country since November 2 is expected to come to an end shortly. Beginning on Thursday, November 9, fuel supply deliveries to gas station are set to resume. Long lines at stations nationwide are expected to ease by November 10.

Context

The fuel shortages were caused by a delayed shipment, as well as an electrical failure, which suspended production at a refinery over a three-day period.

Advice

Individuals present in Sri Lanka are advised to expect continued disruptions at gas stations until the situation stabilizes and to ensure sufficient fuel reserves before all long journeys.
