Heavy rainfall and a dust storm created havoc late on Wednesday night, April 11, in parts of Rajasthan state. At least 12 people were killed in the districts of Bharatpur and Dholpur and over 100 others were injured. According to local administrations, the casualty figures could increase as more information becomes available. The storm uprooted thousands of trees and damaged phone lines, disrupting railway services (e.g. Dholpur-Bharatpur connections) due to the presence of trees on the tracks.
