At least 30 people protest in Banjul on April 17 asking the government to take actions against perpetrators of abuses during Jammeh regime

Jammeh refused to concede defeat after losing the December 2016 presidential election, leading to high political tensions across the country. He finally went into exile in Equatorial Guinea on January 21, 2017. The former president is accused of being complicit in forced disappearances and extrajudicial executions committed since 1994.
