Poland: Court blocks LOT Polish Airlines strike planned May 1 /update 1

On Friday, April 27, LOT Polish Airlines announced that it had received a court injunction to block a strike planned by airline workers on Tuesday, May 1. The Warsaw regional court is scheduled to address the case on Sunday, May 17. Normal flight services are therefore to be expected on May 1.

More than half of LOT Polish Airlines' employees reportedly voted to go on strike; the unions representing the workers claim that the strike action was necessitated by three years of unsuccessful salary negotiations with the company.
