Meteorological authorities anticipate that coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Rayalaseema will experience continued thunderstorms with strong winds through Thursday, May 3.

Heavy rainfall and deadly lightning storms are frequent in India during monsoon period. On April 29, 11 people were killed in Bihar state due to lightning strikes. According to authorities, over 2,000 people die due to lightning strikes in India every year.
