Chile: Plastic bag ban to come into effect 2019-2020
Government announces that a ban on plastic bags will take effect progressively beginning in June 2019

The Chilean government has announced that a ban on the distribution of plastic bags by retail businesses has been approved. The ban will take effect in June 2019 for major retailers and in June 2020 for small and medium-sized businesses. Until then, all retailers will not be able to provide more than two plastic bags per client.
