Civil servants call for nationwide strike June 12-14; protests and transportation disruptions possible

The National Union of Workers of Guinea-Bissau (UNTG) has called for a nationwide strike to take place from Tuesday, June 12, through Thursday, June 14. Civil servants are demanding a new salary scale be implemented. Related protests as well as transportation disruptions are possible during the strike.

Context

The UNTG launched a three-day strike May 7-9 to demand increased salaries. Despite an agreement with the government, their demands were not met.
