Severe delays have been reported at airports throughout Europe on the afternoon of Thursday, July 5. According to the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol), issues with air traffic control (ATC) staffing have caused delays at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) and at airports throughout Greece. Poor weather has also severely affected flights at around Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Karlsruh, and Maastricht. Further disruptions are anticipated in the coming hours.
