Spain: Series of rail strikes in Catalonia from July 26

Workers at Renfe, the national rail operator, are set to carry out a series of strikes in the Catalonia region (capital Barcelona) in the coming weeks. The strikes are currently planned for July 26, July 31, August 1, August 3, and August 10. Reduced timetables, delays, last-minute cancelations, and crowded conditions on available services are possible on these dates. High-speed (AVE) and other long-distance trains, as well as regional services, could all be impacted. 

Context

Various transportation sector strikes are set to take place in Spain this summer, including strikes by Ryanair cabin crews (July 25-26), Iberia staffed based at Barcelona-El Prat International Airport (BCN; July 27-28 and August 3-4), and airport staff nationwide (in August).
