A series of strikes by workers at Renfe, the national rail operator, set to take place in the Catalonia region in the coming weeks has been called off to facilitate negotiations. The strikes had been planned for July 26, July 31, August 1, August 3, and August 10. However, further strikes are likely if the talks are not successful.

Context

Various other transportation sector strikes are still set to take place in Spain this summer, including strikes by Ryanair cabin crews (July 25-26), Iberia staffed based at Barcelona-El Prat International Airport (BCN; July 27-28 and August 3-4), and airport staff nationwide (in August).
