Red flood alerts - the highest level - were issued on August 6 by the National Emergency Office (ONEMI) for the communes of Puerto Montt and Osorno (Los Lagos region) due to the risk of flooding along the Chico, Chamiza, Negro, and Rahue rivers. The alerts remain in effect as of Tuesday, August 7.
