Thousands of people are expected to participate in two separate demonstrations in Budapest on Wednesday, August 8. Some 5000 anti-government activists are reportedly planning to gather at Heroes' Square at 07:00 (local time) and then march to the Sándor Palace (presidential residence) and adjacent St. George's Square beginning at 12:00. Around 100 others are expected to participate in a march beginning at 16:00 from Heroes' Square to St. Laszlo's Square to commemorate firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are to be anticipated near the demonstrations.
