Sri Lanka: Protest marches impacting traffic in Colombo August 8
Two small peaceful protests affecting road traffic in downtown Colombo August 8; stay away from rallies and marches
Event
As of 15:30 (local time) on Wednesday, August 8, traffic congestion was reported around the Lipton Circus/Town Hall in the capital Colombo. The traffic was caused by a protest march staged by a student union. Advice
Individuals in Colombo are advised to avoid all public gatherings and
rallies, anticipate road diversions, and adhere to any instructions
issued by local authorities.
