The threats have reportedly targeted government buildings, news outlets, banks, and libraries, among other businesses, according to local police departments and media. The New York Police Department (NYPD) Counterterrorism Bureau chief has claimed that the threats were not considered credible as of Thursday morning (local time). Nonetheless, a heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected around threatened sites over the coming hours.
