Police have deployed tear gas and water cannons at a protest against an international migration pact in Brussels on Sunday, December 16. Local reports indicate around 1000 far-right and anti-migration protesters gathered at Schuman roundabout to denounce the Belgian government's support of a UN migration agreement signed at a conference earlier this month. Demonstrators reportedly clashed with police when they attempted to enter the EU Commission building. A heightened security and transportation disruptions are expected in the area.
