Greece: Heavy snowfall in Athens and other regions

Heavy snow has affected the capital Athens and surrounding areas, as well as other regions of the country, including the northern and central regions, on Tuesday, January 8, leading to significant disruptions. Public transportation services were halted, while schools and courts were closed in several areas of the country, including in Athens. Some roads were also closed to traffic, while flight and train disruptions were reported. Schools and courts closure as well as transportation disruptions are likely to persist through Wednesday, January 9. Lingering disruptions are possible in affected areas on January 10.
