Malta: Cyberattack on Malta bank significantly disrupts banking operations

Bank of Valletta suspends all its operations until further notice following a cyberattack on February 13

The Bank of Valletta, which accounts for almost half of Malta's banking transaction, had to shutdown all its operations on Wednesday, February 13, due to a cyberattack. All its branches have been closed throughout the island, along with its ATMs, and its website has been disabled. Credit cart payments were also disrupted. As of Thursday, February 14, there is no indication of when operations will resume.
