Two MTR trains collided early Monday morning (local time), March 18, closing the Tsuen Wan line from Admiralty to Central Station. The accident occurred around 03:00 on Monday during a test of a new signaling system; both train drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries. MTR authorities closed the Tsuen Wan line from Admiralty to Central Station for the remainder of the day and are encouraging commuters to take the Island line or alternate forms of transportation. Crowded conditions and continued transportation disruptions are expected for the coming hours.
