Firefighters are responding to a blaze at a boatyard in the Triq Ħal Farruġ (Luqa) area, near Malta International Airport (MLA), on Thursday afternoon (local time), March 28. At least two people have been treated for associated injuries; individuals have been evacuated from the vicinity of the fire.

Localized traffic disruptions may affect the area until firefighters extinguish the blaze. Though no flight delays or cancelations were immediately reported at MLA, smoke around the runway may cause flight disruptions over the coming hours.
