Preparations for the Victory Day military parades will start in Moscow on Wednesday, April 24, until Thursday, May 9. The Moscow traffic service announced the closure of the following streets to all vehicles starting from 21:00 (local time) on Wednesday April 24, until the end of the preparations:

The Il'inka and Varvarka streets as well as the Bol'shoy Moskvoretskiy bridge will be fully closed from 22:00 on Wednesday, April 24 until the end of the event.

The following areas will be closed from Monday, April 29, to Saturday, May 4, starting from 17:30, and on Tuesday, May 7, from 05:30 until the end of the event:

Context

Russia holds the annual Victory Day parade on May 9 to celebrate the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. This will be the 74th anniversary of the end of World War II and the government typically uses the parade to showcase new military technology.
