Honduras: Nationwide taxi drivers' strike June 13

Taxi drivers from the Association of Taxi Drivers of Honduras (Ataxis) are expected to launch a nationwide strike on Thursday, June 13, to denounce new land transportation legislation which would impose high permit-renewal costs on drivers and to demand bonus parity. Protesters reportedly intend to block roads with their vehicles. While other taxi services will be available, associated transportation disruptions and traffic congestion are to be expected nationwide.
