Mexico: Teachers strikes and protests in Oaxaca June 14 and 19

Teachers in Oaxaca have called for strikes and related protests to take place on Friday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 19, to denounce fraud in the education system. On June 14, protesters will gather at 05:00 (local time) in the historic center and then will launch a protest march starting at 10:00 from the State Institute of Public Education of Oaxaca's offices (IEEPO) through Zocalo square. On June 19, teachers will protest in Asunción Nochixtlán.

A heightened security presence, along with traffic disruptions are likely around any demonstration sites.
