Fiji: Runway repairs at Nausori International Airport July 26-October 26
Fiji Airways cancels direct flights from Nausori International Airport (SUV) to Auckland and Sydney due to runway repairs July 26 through October 26
Event
Fiji Airports Limited will implement restrictions on jet aircraft at Nausori International Airport (SUV) from July 26 through October 26 during runway repairs. During the construction period, no direct international flights will be allowed to operate at SUV. Fiji Airways announced that all direct flights from Auckland (New Zealand) and Sydney (Australia) to SUV will be canceled and will instead operate out of Nadi International Airport (NAN). Smaller aircraft providing domestic service at SUV will not be affected by the repair work. According to Fiji Airways, all affected passengers will be re-booked to fly to NAN with a connecting flight to SUV. Disruptions such as crowded conditions and an increased demand for flights are possible at NAN and SUV during the repair period.
