Demonstration reported at Panthéon in Paris July 12 in support of undocumented immigrants; heightened security measures and localized transportation disruptions expected

Some 300 protesters have occupied the Panthéon in Paris as of Friday afternoon (local time), July 12. Participants are reportedly calling for greater rights for undocumented immigrants. Organizers have threatened to remain on site until Prime Minister Édouard Philippe agrees to a meeting.  

A heightened security presence is anticipated near the demonstration. Localized transportation and business disruptions are likely near protest sites, and clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.
