Warning

Event

The Syndicat indépendant des cheminots (SIC) has confirmed plans for a rail strike across Belgium on Saturday, July 27, following failed negotiations regarding guaranteed holidays for rail workers. The strike is scheduled to begin at 03:00 (local time) on Saturday and continue until 03:00 on Sunday, July 28.

Belgium's national railway company, the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges (SNCB), warned that severe disruptions in train service are possible on Saturday. The strike may affect travelers going to and from the Tomorrowland music festival, which is slated to be held in the city of Boom on July 26-28.

Advice

Individuals in Belgium are advised to confirm rail timetables, maintain flexible itineraries, and seek alternate means of transportation as needed.
